Becoming a Successful Pc Gamer

Thursday, November 15th, 2007

This post is dedicated to educate you about PC Gaming or who doesn”t quite understand it. We have come up with a Guideline and Facts which can help you become a successful PC Gamer

.1. Search and Compare - Research for a PC before buying, look around for the latest deals as if you do your research you would be able to find an affordable computer to meet your budget, gaming needs and most likely cheap if you compare it with other retailers selling the same product.

2. Begin Small - Try playing best classic games initially to get a feel and proper understanding for PC games. M+KB controls are not the only things different about PC games. Good example of few classics you can start with are Half-Life 2 or Battlefield 2.

3. Patience - PC Gaming is difficult online. all of us started out as a newbie pretty much dumb at every game, but practicing regularly shall make you near perfect if not perfect. Be patient if you find it hard initially and keep trying, If you stuck at some point Google, yahoo and Msn are your friends and shall help you figure out solution.

4. Stick with PC Gaming - I shall not recommend you jump on all gaming consoles at once and spoil the fun and chance of becoming successful PC Gamer it shall also cost some pretty penny buying all consoles or multiple consoles and then games for them, so don”t bother buying a gaming PC unless you are going to commit because you will find yourself turned off and fed up soon.

5. Fact that PC Hardware is always changing - No need to fed up or discourage if your new Graphics card you purchased recently has a new version released. It always happens and shall keep happening, If you put some effort and stay ahead of the edge you can at least make that ”out dated” Graphics card last you and you will get your monies worth. PC gaming doesn”t always means you have to have more expensive and latest hardware, expensive computers doesn”t always mean better value.

6. PC Terminologies - If you have not used PC before for gaming purpose and are almost lost with the terminologies like CTRL+DEL etc don”t worry and ask for help, again google is your friend and you will find alot of newbie guides for PC, you can also sign up on popular gaming forums and ask for help.

7. Don”t try arguing and convincing others - Trying to convince others that PC gaming is more fun than console based gaming shall take you no where you will be shot down faster than a fighter plane over WWII Germany. Concentrate on gaining experience in PC gaming, its not that they are elite but more that they are fanboys. Either way don”t try that you will end up getting in a pointless debate which results in flaming and bad news.

8. No need of Super Computer - Well even the top games like Crysis or COD 4 don”t require a super computer to get the most out of it. Mostly Games on the PC`s are optimized to run on all kinds of PCs crappy old or new and ofcourse you can tweak the settings to your likings.

9. PC Gaming is alive - Don”t think that PC gaming is dying . PC gaming is far from dead and its stronger than ever. While it is true that the alot has shifted to consoles, PCs still hold a good chunk of the market and there are more computers than consoles. So get on board and get the best gaming experience.

10. PC Gaming is Cheap - Pc gaming is actually in the short and long runs cheaper than buying a console and it also fulfills multiple purposes. Competition is cut throat in vendors and hardwares are getting cheaper every other day, So its ok to join in i assure you you do have enough money to support it and you will not regret it.

Girl Gamers are as Competitive as Male Gamers

Wednesday, November 14th, 2007

girl gamerWorldWinner which is online game competition provider and a Fun Technologies subsidiary has recently revealed results of a random survey they conducted which indicated that men and women are equally compared when it comes to their competitiveness in a competition.

As per WorldWinner, the 2007 WorldWinner Gender, Competition Survey in which they analyzed the attitudes and aptitude of men and women toward informal gaming contests and revealed that both men and women described themselves as competitive or highly competitive – 73 percent – “.

Survey also revealed both men and women are driven by same force or factor which is desire to win over opponent sex and it was the number one response from both genders, this number was slightly higher among males (61 percent of all participants) versus females (50 percent of all participants).

Amazingly women tends to seek out competition more often than men; A lot of of women or 39 percent of them, replied that they look for a competition almost daily, on other hand only 31 percent of men do. Majority of men which is 45 percent are happy going head 2 head just a few times per week.

Other interesting results revealed that the majority of both gender groups equally fight for validation or to prove themselves as a better gamer and predominantly decided that competition is more “interesting” and “thrilling” than “intimidating” and tends not to quit when ahead and feel just as competitive playing against the same gender as they do versus a member of the opposite gender.

Question is which gender is more competitive or better? As per WorldWinner’’s analysis, it’’s a tie. This survey respondents (most of them) do agree that men and women are equally assertive and competitive in any casual competition.

49 percent of men and 53 percent of women do believe that both genders men and women are equally competitive, on the other hand 45 percent of men and 35 percent of women view their male competitors as more competitive. Only 6 percent of men and 12 percent of women perceive females to be the more competitive opponents.

Lastly, this survey found that when money is no object, both men 77 percent and women 86 percent agrees that they would rather like to play a game and lose than not play the game at all.

Fun Technologies CEO Lorne Abony also commented as, “Men are often stereotypically viewed as more competitive, but our survey revealed what we experience on WorldWinner every day: that both sexes enjoy friendly, casual competition against anyone who’s willing to take them on.”
