Hi,

My first introduction post got zapped... I guess they though I was spamming or something. But I'm still here so...

Anyway, I found this site when I was looking for a cool site to find other people who like cheats, because I scripted a search engine that only finds cheats. I wrote it in simple XML, but it works really well... at least I think so.

I didn't think they would mind if I put in a single little teeny tiny link, but I guess they did. Or maybe I posted wrong??? Cuz I'm a newbie here? I dunno.

Anyway, I have now included the pages in this forum in my search, so they should be happy, as now anyone who uses my search engine can get taken to this site making this site more popular! :-D How can they be mad at that?

So after I read one guy's comment on another game site where they did not zap my link (because it is relevant to cheats) - he proposed that I try a restrictive search that only returns cheats. At first I was afraid to make the search engine too restrictive, but then I added a refinement string to the algorithm and it seemed to work a bit better. It doesn't cast as wide a net, but might find the cheats better. The best way is to have a few people test drive it. Give it a try. Let me know.

So now, I have a new beta version of the search engine that I made this morning after breakfast. So far, this forum is the only place I posted it as it is not public yet!

It has two improvements over the original:

• It searches the forums in this site now
• It should ONLY return results which have the word "cheat" somewhere in them.

I hope this post doesn't get zapped, because it would really be good to know if this is better than the original that I coded a couple of days ago.

If you think it is better, I'll replace the original with this version.
