I have been informed that you can use the Nintendo Wii on the internet via broadband? Is this correct and if so how do I go about setting it up? Do I need to have wireless?
Any response would be much appreciated

You will need broadband unless of the following:
1. You have a Nintendo Wi-Fi USB connector
2. You are using someone else's wireless
3. You connect through the blue network cable (Physical connection with the modem)

This post was taken from me on CheatMasters.

1. Okay, make sure that your router is on and that your Wii is at the main menu. Take the Wii Remote, and hover it to the left-bottom side of the screen, over the button labeled Wii.

2. You then will be taken to a menu that says Data Management, and Wii Settings. Choose Wii Settings. Go to the second page, then choose the tab labeled "Internet".

3. Then, you will see three tabs. Just choose the first one "Connection settings. Then you will be taken to a screen with three different configurations for three access points. You may choose whichever one you wish, but I'll just use Connection 1.

4. Then you will be taken to a screen that says "Wireless Connecion" and "Wired Connection". You are going to want to choose "Wireless Connection".

5. You then are taken to a screen with several selections on locating an access point. You may want to try to "Search for an access point" before you just go ahead and set it up, as this may assist you in locating your router name.

6. Assuming that you located your router, and selected it, you will then be prompted to enter a code, known as your WEP key. If you do not know where your WEP key is, look underneath your router. If it is not there, ask one of your parents to help you find it. Always make sure that it is all right with your parents that you use your console over the internet.

7. Then, that may be all you need, but you may still have to enter your SSID, which is probably located next to your WEP key. You should then test your connection, and if all goes well, your connection should be successful. Save that connection, and exit out of the Wii Settings.

8. Now, when you boot up a Wi-Fi compatible game, it should now be able to connect to WFC. This also allows you to update your Wii and use the Shop Channel.

If this does not work, make sure that you completed all of the required steps correctly. If you are completely certain that you did every step correctly, and it still does not work, then please send me a PM and I will try to help you get it working. Again, your router may not be compatible with Wi-Fi. As well, please visit support.nintendo.com for basic trouble shooting as well.
