It is possible to break the boulder blocking the Beavers hole in Click Clock Wood on the Spring level. Stand on the ledge above the rock, then find the correct angle just to the right of the rock. Drop eggs onto the boulder to break it open. Then, swim into the hole on this level to find some glitches, such as the Beaver still asking you to move the now destroyed rock.
Extra lives in Mr. Viles games

With Mumbos help, turn into an alligator in the Bubblegloop Swamp. Then, enter the nose of the giant alligator statue. Now beat Mr. Vile at his games to get a puzzle piece, then leave and re-enter for a new challenge. Beat Mr. Vile in his three games to earn extra lives. Note: If you lose any of the games, you will lose a life.
Obtain the ice key

there is an easier way to get the ice key[for those of you who dont happen to have a GameShark]. first, plug up Leaky the bucket in Treasure Trove Cove by laying two eggs on him. Then, go inside the sand-castle, kill the Snippet crab inside, and put in this code. this is EXACTLY what you must put in, word for word, "CHEATNOWYOUCANSEEANICEICEKEYWHICHYOUCANHAVEFORFREE" Then go to Freezeezy Peak and go inside Wozzas cave. In the little room behind the orange Jinjo, youll see the Ice Key, waiting to be taken!

Stay as transformed animal

Note: This trick requires a Game Shark or Pro Action Replay cartridge. Enable the "Moon Jump" code (D0281251 0020 + 8137C4BC 43E0). As an animal, exit the area that was being explored and hold L when the "Mumbo Magic Get Weak" message appears. Do not touch the ground and go through the door. Then, Banjo-Kazooie will still be in the shape of that animal and can explore other areas with that form.

Banjo-Tooie "StopnSwop" Secrets
Did it drive you nuts that Rare hid secrets in Banjo-Kazooie that could only be unlocked through Banjo-Tooie? Well, someone finally figured how to open up the hidden stuff. By using the following cheats, you will be able to raise Sharkfood Island, get to the Ice Key and collect all the secret eggs -- but there is still one question left to be answered. What the heck do you do with them? Alas, we dont have an answer to that question quite yet...

Whenever you collect one of these special items, they get added to a "StopnSwop" inventory screen. Rumor has it that Rare came up with a way that lets you pull out BK while your N64 is still on and quickly plug in Banjo-Tooie. However, rumors from within Nintendo also suggest that the Big "N" wasnt thrilled at all about this technical feat and wanted Rare to get rid of the feature. Whatever the truth is, we still dont know how BK and BT connect. Until we find out, you can at least collect all the hidden goodies to get ready for the big day.

Go to Banjo-Kazooies Sandcastle in Treasure Trove Cove and start off by spelling CHEAT. Every letter you hit will make a "moo" sound to confirm that you did it correctly.

After you spelled CHEAT, you will be able to enter the following lengthy cheats to unlock the hidden stuff. The cheats are pretty much self-explanatory. Note that the letters wont make any noise.

To open the locked gate in the rock wall in Gobis Valley, enter the following cheat. You will find the Blue Egg inside.

To raise Sharkfood Island in Treasure Trove Cove, enter the following sentence. You have to work yourself up to the top of the hill inside -- to get the Purple Egg.

The fabled Ice Key is hidden in Freezeezy Peak. Enter the following cheat to get to it from the ice cave:

Everybody loves Loggo the Toilet on Mad Monster Mansions second floor. Enter the following cheat to find the Green Egg in the same room:

The Yellow Egg is hidden in Click Clock Wood. Once you enter the following cheat, you will be able to find it in Nabnuts tree house.
NOW BANJO WILL BE ABLE TO SEE IT ON NABNUTS TABLE

Finally, the Red Egg is hidden in the Captains Cabin in Rusty Bucket Bay. Enter the following cheat to bring it out of hiding:

Funnier Game Select Animations
Want to have some fun with Banjo when you load the game? Well, heres how. Go to the Game Select area and choose your game. Now, do one of the following:

On Game 1: Watch the fish swimming around in the fish-bowl. After a while he will butt his head into the side of the bowl, causing a TOCK sound. Immediately after you hear the third TOCK sound, press A and Banjo will be thrown out the window.

On Game 2: Again, watch the fish swimming around in the fish-bowl. After a while he will butt his head into the side of the bowl, causing a TOCK sound. Immediately after you hear the third TOCK sound, press A and the wall will spin around causing Kazooie to be chucked outside.

On Game 3: You must listen for the BOING sound coming from the Gameboy. The third time you hear it, press A and a giant spring will come out from the the bottom of the chair, launching Banjo out of the house.


Infinite Air
After entering CHEAT on the sandcastle floor in Treasure Trove cove, spell GIVETHEBEARLOTSOFAIR.

Bottles Bonus
After Beating Treasure Trove Cove, go back to Banjos House, outside Gruntildas Lair. Once inside, look at the Bottles the mole picture and you will go into a secret game of put the moving puzzle pieces together. Once all the pieces are fitted, congratulations! Youve just accessed the first code.

To redeem it, go to Treasure Trove Cove, drain the water around the castle, and enter. Every time you complete one of his puzzles he will give you a new code, they are as follows:

First puzzle: BOTTLESBONUSONE this gives Banjo a big head. Second puzzle: BOTTLESBONUSTWO this gives Banjo big feet and hands. Third puzzle: BOTTLESBONUSTHREE this gives Kazooie a big head. Fourth puzzle: BOTTLESBONUSFOUR this gives Banjo a tall skinny body and a little head Fifth puzzle: BOTTLESBONUSFIVE this gives Banjo a tall skinny body little head, big hands, and big feet. Sixth puzzle: BIGBOTTLESBONUS this gives Banjo a tall skinny body, big head, big hands, big feet. (this code may also give Kazooie a big head too, I cant remember, youll see when you try it) Seventh puzzle: WISHYWASHYBANJO this turns Banjo into a washing machine. He still has all his abilities, he just looks different.

To cancel these codes, enter the word NOBONUS.


Infinite Gold Feathers
After entering CHEAT on the sandcastle floor in Treasure Trove cove, spell A GOLDEN GLOW TO PROTECT BANJO.

Infinite Red Feathers

Glitch: Ice Key Trick
Here is a way to get the ice key without using any cheats or Gameshark codes. Get the orange jinjo in Wuzzas cave, right in front of the ice key. Next, face away from the ice key. Perform a backflip, and if you did it right, you will fall into a hole in the wall, allowing you to reach the key. (Note: The game might freeze if you grab the ice key.)


Refill Eggs, Red Feathers, and Gold Feathers At Once
Once you have all three Cheato book codes, you can go to the floor of the Sandcastle and enter these letters to refill everything all at once: BLUEREDGOLDFEATHERS


Maximum Health
After entering CHEAT on the sandcastle floor in Treasure Trove cove, spell ANENERGYBARTOGETYOUFAR.

NOTE: You wont hear a sound confirming the code until youve entered the entire sentence.


Warp Cauldron Locations
The warp cauldrons transport Banjo-Kazooie to other locations in Gruntildas Lair. The time it takes to get to certain levels can be noticeably reduced.

There are four sets of cauldrons.

PURPLE:
The first purple cauldron can be found through a passageway in the area where the Treasure Trove Cove jigsaw puzzle is located.

The second cauldron is located in the area prior to Freezeezy Peak, where there is a large witchs head. It can be found tucked in a cave that is hidden behind a spiderweb. Use eggs to destroy the web.

BLUE:
The first blue cauldron can be found near the second purple cauldron is located. Go to the top of the spiral walkway, where there is another spiderweb on the ground. Shoot eggs out your rear to destroy the web.

The second blue cauldron is located in the area with the entrance to Rusty Bucket Bay. It is near the top of a bunch of stacked boxes.

RED:
The first red cauldron is located inside the pipe below the passageway heading to Clankers Cavern (also the same area where there is a passage to Treasure Trove Cove).

The second red cauldron is tucked away in a passage at the bottom of the hill before Click Clock Wood. There are two entryways and they are just barely visible above the grass.

YELLOW:
After beating Gruntildas gameshow go up the spiral staircase to find the first cauldron. The second one is behind the starting platform for the gameshow.


Cheatos First Spell Book
To enter Cheatos first lair, go into Bubblegloop Swamp and find Mumbos Hut. (To find Mumbos hut, go above the gators head into the maze and youll have to find his hut.) He will transform you into a gator. Now exit Bubble Gloop Swamp and go into Gruntildas lair. Try to go BEHIND the entrance to Bubble Gloop Swamp. If you successfully go behind puzzle to Bubble Gloop Swamp, youll find Cheato the Spell Book.


Cheatos Second Spell Book
Go to the level MAD MONSTER MANSION. Change to the pumpkin and go to the platform that BRENTILDA is on, go through the little hole and get the red spell book. Then go to the BANJOKAZOOIE puzzle in TREASURE TROVE COVE then enter REDFEATHERS to get 100 feathers and a maximum of 100.


Cheatos Third Spell Book
To find Cheatos 3rd spellbook, you have to have the water risen to the 2nd level before you can race to the lair.

Find the switch to raise the water to the third level (behind a grated pathway behind the 460 note door when the water has risen the first time.) Go through the door then immediately dive down in the water and go to the Rusty Bucket Bay area and swim to the top after coming out and look for a staircase and that will lead you to the lair.

Note: After hitting the switch to raise the water to the third level, youll only have 30 seconds to get your furry hide to the lair.


Double Health
If you have enough notes, open the 882-Note Door, then stand on the puzzle piece platform. By completing the picture with four of your Jiggys, your Honeycomb Energy Meter will turn red. From then on, your Honeycomb Energy will be twice as strong. In essence, one red Honeycomb Energy Piece will represent two pieces on your meter, so one hit will turn a red piece yellow, and a subsequent hit will completely deplete the piece of energy.


Jumping Tip
As you know, there are three types of jumps in Banjo-Kazooie. In all three, if you press the ATTACK button during your jump youll travel a little farther than you normally would.


Secret Room in Monster Mansion
In Mad Monster Mansion there is a secret room outside the Church. Look at all the stain glass windows outside the castle and you will notice that one has a picture of Banjo and Kazooie on it. Simply jump through the window to get to a bonus room inside.


Rusty Bucket Bay Whistle Combination
The combination for the whistle game in Rusty Bucket Bay is 312-111
. Its written on the side of the ship, in case you forget...

Less Damage From A Fall
To take less damage from a long fall, press B just before you land.


Bug Repellant
First put in the code for unlimited gold feathers (you dont NEED to but, it helps). Then, while using the Wonderwing, break a honey case. Keep Wonderwing on and wait for the bees to begin to attack you. They will die instantly (and rather humorously) and will never pose as a threat to you.


Playing Tips

Question:
Ok, I found the entrance to Monster Mansion where the lava is... so where is the puzzle board to open up this stage, how do I get to it?

Answer:
Its near Freezeezy Peak, in that section with the witch where you enter to get to that lava place, there is a ramp that leads a good distance up above the witch statue. The first tunnel to the left up there leads you into water. Go to the left through the hole and then through the next hole to the left in that area. This brings you to a third area, where a couple platforms sit. Double jump from one to the next until you find the puzzle picture.

Question:
Ive been in the room where the entrance is to the Click Clock Wood stage, where is the thing you stand on to put the puzzle piece in the board? I cant find it anywhere... I read several posts that said look for a leaf but I cant find it.

Answer:
You cant get into the Click Clock Wood stage until you pass the Monster Mansion and Rusty Bucket Bay levels. After that you wont have any problem finding the switch.

Question:
I went into the water tunnel thats located at the room where the spider webs are, swam past the mine and pirahnas, and came to the last room. How do I get up to the top where the puzzle is located?

Answer:
First of all, you have to have located the Mad Monster Mansion stage. A ways to the left of the entrance to the mansion there is a gate. Beak bust the lock, then enter the mansion to find Mumbo, who turns you into a pumpkin. Exit the stage as a pumpkin and go to the area where you beak busted the lock. Follow the path to where you come to a house. Mumbo should be in there so make him change you back. There will be a tomb in there, which inside, has a thing to butt stomp on. That will make the water rise to level one.

Next, head for the place where you activated the Mad Monster Mansion door, and go to the place where you see a ship above you. That should be the second area where you entered to get to the MMM jiggy inserter. The water should be raised enough to get on the ship. Go all the way to the left of the area where a box with the Rare sign sits. Butt stomp it, and the water should be raised to a second level.
