When you get to the end of the Icecap/Snowboarding stage, Sonic can run towards the slope (after he ditches the snowboard) but the game will prevent him from going back. Run up the slope as much as possible and hold B. Sonic will start to slide back as if pushed by an invisible wall. Immediately let go of B and the game will occasionally glitch and warp Sonic above the point where he is being forced off the slope. Sonic can explore from there, but going all the way back to the beginning of the stage will crash the game.
